We are happy to inform you that on Monday March 15th, Refdoc, your reference site for searching for and ordering scientific documents, will officially open.

Refdoc will replace ArticleSciences, Article@inist, Compte@inist and Form@inist.

Your new catalogue, Refdoc, will provide access to over 35 million records for articles, books, conference proceedings, reports... in the fields of Science, Technology, Medicine, Humanities and Social Sciences dating from 1847 right up to the present day.

Inist join Datacite consortium

The initiative has gone beyond the European realm and includes 12 members from all over the world. As « DOI agents », the members of the consortium are entitled to grant Digital Object Identifiers to various types of digital resources, thus rendering them citable and more easily accessible. With this mission, DataCite will closely collaborate with data producing centers and scientific publishers.

To assist such collaborations and to steer and streamline these endeavours, the consortium has set up several working groups (metadata, dynamic objects, preservation, new skills, etc.)

Refdoc opening in a few weeks time

The INIST-CNRS and INIST Diffusion teams would both like to take this opportunity to wish you a very Happy New Year for 2010. We sincerely hope that Refdoc, your new site for scientific document references, will be to your entire satisfaction.

We are working towards obtaining an optimum level of quality for this new service because we are aware of the importance Refdoc will have in the field of scientific information and to fulfil this goal we have opted to slightly delay the opening of the site.

This is because we have found that perfecting the loading of the site's 35 million document records requires in-depth finishing work which will take a few more weeks. We will let you know the site's new opening date very shortly.

In the meantime, the 2009 price list for document supply will remain in application until Refdoc goes online.
